Aguero to partner Messi at Barca? Interest in £50m City striker hots up but Catalan giants play down swoop.

Barcelona have insisted they are not interested in signing Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.
Reports in Spain suggested the Catalan giants were preparing a £50million swoop for the Argentine, who is close friends with Lionel Messi.
But vice president Josep Bartomeu immediately denied the club had started preparing a move.

‘No we have had no contact with him. I can say that the story is not true,’ he said.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini said he believed Aguero does not want to leave City when asked about him being linked to Real Madrid last week.
Aguero’s agent moved to Barcelona from Buenos Aires this year and Barcelona coach Tata Martino is also a fan, but City chief executive Ferran Soriano’s relationship with Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has deteriorated dramatically since he left the club and that would be a major stumbling block to any move.

One player who will be at Barcelona next season is Andres Iniesta.
Sources close to the player have confirmed the chance of him leaving the Camp Nou are non-existent and Bartomeu added: ‘Talks are going well, both sides want the same thing so there will only be one conclusion.
